Reaching and rescuing a least and neediest child in India is a great deed. Many children in India are deprived through gaps that happen in their home or community. Girls are the worst affected as they are considered a liability financially and socially. In several parts of the country, little girls born to poor parents with no means to pay a dowry for marriage or afford better education are simply disposed of. Many are suffocated during the delivery while several end up with sex traffickers. Girls from broken homes and with single parents are often victims of abuse. Rose of Sharon becomes a refuge at least for a few of them to face the challenges of life. ROS stands in the gap for the least privileged girl children by serving the most deserving and poor girls who are orphaned by unfortunate situations and providing them with safety, love and hope for a better future.
Some of our children were rescued from dangerous situations while others were a burden for their single parent. At Rose of Sharon’s Home of Hope, they are protected, cared for all their needs, nurtured, and given good education.
I met Rev. Prasanna Kumar in March 2011. I later travelled to India first hand to see their part of Kingdom work on earth.
